Pedal Assist System For E-Bike

ABSTRACT

Bicycles have played an important role as an environment-friendly and healthy alternative for personal mobility. Range of tradition bicycles are fully dependent on human effort. This paper presents the method of converting tradition bicycle to electric bicycle with pedal assist system. The integration of pedal assist technology within electric bicycles, aiming to enhance their efficiency, usability, and sustainability. The primary objective is to develop and evaluate a robust pedal assist system that seamlessly complements human pedaling efforts with electric propulsion. Also, addition of gyroscope and accelerometer can provide precise angular measurement of road to change the electric propulsion according to the inclination of road. This helps to increase the range electric bicycle. The study encompasses aspects such as system design, control algorithms, energy management, and user experience. This paper seeks to provide insights into optimizing pedal assist functionality and precision for electric bicycles, ultimately contributing to the advancement of eco- friendly urban transportation solutions.
